Hooray for us, we’re finishing up month 3 of Author Interview Plunges and here I’ll share what’s coming up in April and the start of May 2018. But before that, are you a published author who’d like to be interviewed for our series? Easy to do.
April 2018 is going to be an exciting month for Author Interview Plungophiles. We start with being lulled by spoken word artist Danielle Duncan and then spend the rest of the month (and into early May!) dodging bullets, fighting terrorists and avoiding international nastiness.
We’re calling it “Our Month of Mayhem” and we hope you’ll enjoy it!
April showers us with the many gifts and talents of accomplished spoken word artist/self-published author Dani Skye. 3 years ago, she began performing at open mics in Detroit, Michigan, and Cleveland, Ohio once she released her first poetry collection, BROKEN FLOWER: BITTERSWEET, IN REPAIR & FULLY RESTORED: VOLUME 1, which was released December 2015. In late 2016, she has since then come back home to The Show-Me-State, St. Louis, Missouri. The venues she has performed at were: Poetic Justice, Urb Arts, Word Up! Verbzzz Afterwork and The Remedy.
Dani currently has seven poetry collections on Amazon under her former stage names, Danie James and Indigo Skye. She is currently working on her first short story since 2012, OVER 30 & A DECADE SINGLE, loosely based on her love life the past 8 years between 2010-2018 era.
On April 14th Saturday, she will be a part of the Women’s Entrepreneur Meet N Greet at Legacy Books Cafe, located at 5249 Delmar Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63108 from 2-5pm; promoting her latest book “OPEN LETTER” and selling tickets to her showcase.
Later that same day, Dani will have her debut, INTRODUCING DANI SKYE at The Monocle located at 4510 Manchester Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110. This showcase will be filled with powerful, honest, unapologetic and beautifully crafted poetry that includes topics about love, female empowerment, sexual abuse and much more. Pre-sale tickets are currently available and can be purchased on Eventbrite and at the venue the day of as well.
On April 15th Sunday, Skye will be apart of the performing line-up along with other poets/authors at the semi-monthly Evening of Wine and Poetry at Dunaway Books, located at 3111 S Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63118 from 7-10pm.
Skye is also expected to have her own book launching event in May at Dunaway Books as well. Date and time will be posted on her social media, so be looking out.
Military intelligence expert and retired Intelligence Officer Karl Braungart shares his Cold War military intelligence experience gained while living in Germany on Wednesday, 11 April 2018.
Karl worked in the administration of a military intelligence department, interviewing, initiating security clearances, fingerprinting, MI seminars and traveled extensively throughout Europe, all of which he now uses in his Spy Determination series that deals with espionage tactics and diplomacy. Karl studied international affairs and comparative governments at the University of Maryland, College Park, and has spent the last several decades studying Middle East politics and social movements. Karl is a member of the Maryland Writers Association, the Eastern Shore Writers Association, the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild, and Creatures, Crime and Creativity.

We continue our month of mayhem with Men’s Fiction author and RhinoPress Publisher Jamie RoadPoet Mason. Jamie’s is a Montreal native who enrolled in the University of Arizona where he majored in English and worked with the Sanctuary Movement. After two decades spent teaching and volunteering with refugees and the homeless, he returned to Canada in 2005. He has worked variously as a think-tank analyst, a business manager, a professional musician and a private investigator. Now semi-retired and living in the woods of Vancouver Island, he devotes his time to writing and savoring the vanishing Canadian wilderness. His books include KEZZIE OF BABYLON, THE BOOK OF ASHES and GAVIN’S WAR. We’ll be speaking with Jamie on Wednesday, 18 Apr 2018.

We end April (but not our Month of Mayhem) with homegrown terrorist author Norm Brewer. Norm is an award winning reporter and editor who worked for The Des Moines Register and Tribune and for Gannett News Service in Washington, D.C. He was also Director of Employee Communications at the Transportation Security Administration in the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. He is retired and lives with his wife, Judy, in Bethesda, Maryland.
We’ll be talking with Norm about his current novel, BLENDING IN – A TALE OF HOMEGROWN TERRORISM. We’ll explore how much reality and experience is in it and whether we should fear Norm or not.

Our Month of Mayhem concludes with historical terror and Terrorist author Dr. John Beyer. John has two PhDs in School Administration and Clinical Psychology and was a classroom teacher, school administrator and district administrator.
John was also a street cop, training officer and member of an elite SWAT team. We talk with John about his published novels, HUNTED, SOFT TARGET and OPERATION SCORPION, his current work in progress, VLAD, THE LAST CRUSADER, and his recent sale to Black Opal Books.
